Masala Tea - Bharat Tea Plantation

It was Monday, we were headed to the Boh Tea Plantation in Sg Palas. But alas, it seems many places of interest in Cameron Highlands are closed on Mondays. So much for planning a trip and avoiding peak weekends. We still tried our luck and drove thru the Boh Plantation until we reached the entry gate, but were stopped by a guard as it was closed. I believe Boh has like a walk thru of how tea is produced. Still the view we got was breath-taking.

So my dearest said, lets try the Bharat Tea Plantation we passed thru during our way up to Cameron. And was that a blessing in disguise. This plantation produces the Cameron Valley Tea product. We entered the Bharat Tea Plantation and first enjoyed the tea plantation scenery.

Then we went to the cafe. Nice surroundings. Quite relaxing. Just a great way to say Tata to Cameron Highlands.

Going thru the menu, which of course, offers a variety of tea concoctions, we noticed they had Masala Tea. Masala is Indian Spices, or rempah ratus in Malay.
Once to often we have been disappointed by the Masala Tea preparations served in Malaysia.

So we sat down, waited for our drinks to be ready, and picked it up at the counter. Yes self-service, it's no Nasi Kandar. So here's the Masala Tea. I also got some 'short bread' from the counter. Nice serving isn't it.

Now comes the verdict. Yes, it was fabulous. A must try. After the drinks, we went into their store where tea leaves, tea bags and tea-you-name-it is being sold. They do sell the Masala Tea ingredient mixture (the spices) in a small jar. They also have a short history display on the entrepreneurs who started this plantation.
Check out their website. http://www.bharattea.com.my/
